No concrete ideas yet...need a concept...a message...

A reminder to myself:
Subject selection is done but I need to add/drop:FIL 240 - change from 64081 to 64080
ADM 215 - change from 64047 to 64046/64049
For the unrestricted elective, I really can't decide between the 2 NIE courses and Korean. I can only afford to take up one this semester and it's super unwise to overload so I won't. Let's see how it goes.
Thursday, December 17, 2009 Marche
Posted by Philothea` @ Thursday, December 17, 2009 |
Since the opening of Somerset 313, I've been to Marche twice and each trip makes me more disappointed. The food still looks good but just doesn't taste as nice as the old outlet at Heeren =( Marche used to be my fav eating place in secondary school! I'm craving for durians and carrot cake now. Hoho. So random.
Posted by Philothea` @ Thursday, December 17, 2009 | This is one of the days I wake up feeling totally disoriented.
It's already evening and I still haven't done much except coordinating for the shoot tmr. I have this uneasy, butterflies-in-my-stomach sensation every time I'm caught in a shoot which I'm uncertain of my ability to deliver. I realised I have been too dependent on the experts around me but when it comes to doing it myself, I start to cringe a little. And I think probably cos I'm getting really rusty and technically incompetent. Producing and directing may be a tad bit easier but when it comes to the technical work, I always have this boiling fear stirring within me.
Anyway I found the answer to my laziness and discontentment with many things in my life. It spells S-E-L-F-D-I-S-C-P-L-I-N-E (revelation from Level Up camp) and it's time to quit living in my comfort zone and really do something about it before it breeds any further contempt.
By the way, I chance upon this cute video and it kinda made me guilty for not practicing beyond the 4 basic chords. I only know G, Em, C, D. Lol.
Actually I've been wanting to learn to play the guitar properly. But since the day my brother lost my one & only guitar, I haven't done anything about it. The good news is that a kind soul has decided to buy me a new guitar this Christmas (thanks man!) so I am looking forward to picking up this useful skill again and use it for QT =)
Alright, I'm getting out of here and I shall continue to muse on the 'More than yesterday, less than tomorrow' devotion now. Tata.

Posted by Philothea` @ Sunday, December 13, 2009 | I'm back! I'm improving with my regular updates, aren't you proud of me? It's very very rare so I'm pretty sure it will die down again after this wave of updates. Haha. So, enjoy it while it lasts! Today's post features my trip to Tate Modern and oh how I love the museums! To see the old masters' works up-close really enlightened me...at last all that foundation drawing and western art history learnt over the past year had not gone down the drain. Hoho. And if you thought my 16pounds breakfast was expensive, consider my lunch which amounted up to 30pounds (about S$70)! It was a very expensive but unsatisfying meal =( I'm sleepy now so I shall say no more...

Saturday, December 12, 2009 London III
Posted by Philothea` @ Saturday, December 12, 2009 | As promised, I would update a little bit more today! Haha.
While I was in the city, I stayed at The Bermondsey Square Hotel which is a pretty cool and peaceful place, 10-15 mins walk from London Bridge station. While we stupidly walk back to our hotel everyday, we finally realised on the 2nd last day that we could actually take bus back from Bermondsey station instead. We wasted a lot of time each day getting lost and got a little frustrated when we travelled from place to place. On a brighter note, oh, I love my full English breakfast at the hotel every morning! It's 15 pounds though, that's like about S$36! Fancy spending so much on a meal, but it's enjoyable =)

It's 4.16am!!! I ought to be sleeping now. More updates tomorrow! Good night/morning!~
Friday, December 11, 2009 London II
Posted by Philothea` @ Friday, December 11, 2009 | Haha. I don't know how long I will take to finish the update on my London trip since I'm only posting bit by bit. But if you are patient enough, you will wait, won't you? Hurhur.
This is the hotel where I rested on the night on arrival. It's just next to the Stansted Airport so it's good to chill for one night first before moving on to the city. Hoho.

The next day, lazy bumps woke up at 10am and tried the Burger King breakfast. Theirs is so much better than ours cos they used real sausages, not meat patty!
So after breakfast, off we go from Stansted Airport to Liverpool street on the express train.
This is one of the random station I took along the way.
I didn't take many photos and I can't remember why. Probably cos I was carrying such a heavy bag...and I really don't like their underground. It felt so cramp, warm, crowded and made me claustrophobic. The train itself is smaller than our MRT. Why so?
For one reason or another, I don't have much appetite so a good salad was enough for lunch.
The highlight that night was shopping at Oxford street! I didn't buy anything from TOPSHOP cos it was too crowded but I bought heaps of stuff from H&M, Zara, Dorothy Perkins and M&S (:
In case you're wondering why the day seem so short, don't forget that the sun sets by 5pm in Europe! And it's drizzling alot in London which makes it so inconvenient to move around.More updates later! Back to packing my room.
London I
Posted by Philothea` @ Friday, December 11, 2009 |
Hello! I'm back from london and unfortunately rounder (fats accumulated over the past week & unknowingly consuming more while the cold weather was a good excuse. hurhur) While I'm lazy to sort out the photos and filter them, I shall present a preview first. So, here's the view outside my window while I was up up and away on a 13 hours flight!

And the next picture is the evening sky! Such beautiful colours! =)
More updates soon!
